FUTURES Annual Event: 4 – 6 November

One show, three talks, five workshops, twenty curators and one hundred artists

From 4 to 6 November, the finest talents of young European photography met at CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia at the annual event of FUTURES (EPP – European Photography Platform).

FUTURES is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. FUTURES partners this year are represented by Bienal Fotografia do Porto, Centre Photographique Rouen Normandie, Copenhagen Photo Festival, Der Greif, FOMU Fotomuseum, FOTODOK, Fotofestiwal Lodz, Fotogalleriet, Fotograf Magazine, ISPP, Organ Vida, PhotoEspaña, Photo Romania Festival, PhotoIreland, Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, Triennale der Photographie Hamburg and Void. Eurokleis is a research partner of the platform that performs the assessment of the FUTURES platform as well the assessment of the photographers’ careers over the years.

 FUTURES Annual Event offered a variety of events that took place over three days, with appointments exclusively for the artists selected in 2022, alternating with other public activities.

 The annual event was full of meetings on photography and contemporary visual research that also includes numerous moments of sociability and encounter between the community of artists and the public.

In addition to the artists and curators from the organisations belonging to the platform, the annual event was enriched by the participation of international guests such as the artists Laia Abril (Spain), Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs (Switzerland) and Max Pinckers (Belgium)as well as curators Julija Reklaitė (Lithuania, director of Rupert, Vilnius) and Krzysztof Candrowicz (Poland, curator of the CICLO Biennial in Porto, Portugal). They were the tutors in the project’s educational sessions, consisting of five workshops reserved for participants (and staged in collaboration with Gallerie d’Italia).
